Complying with EU Regulation 2021/2117: Last days to update wine labels

The adaptation of wine labels to EU Regulation 2021/2117 must be completed by June 30, 2024. All wine producers need to update labels quickly in order to continue marketing the remaining bottles.

Last days to comply

Thanks to the “save labels” decree by Minister of Agriculture, Food Sovereignty and Forestry Francesco Lollobrigida, old labels can still be used for a few days. As of July 1, 2024, all wine bottles will have to be labeled with labels that comply with the new regulations. The old labels can still be used only if they are flanked by supplementary labels that include the new mandatory information, such as the QR code label.
