GHS labels for marking hazardous substances.
GHS labels are self-adhesive labels designed in accordance with the Globally Harmonised System of Classification and Labelling of Chemicals (GHS). This internationally standardised system provides clear guidelines for the classification of chemicals and their proper labelling on packaging. Also referred to as hazard symbol labels, GHS labels are easily identifiable by their red-bordered diamond pictograms, typically printed in black. These symbols visually communicate the type of hazard associated with the substance inside the packaging.
Each pictogram corresponds to a specific hazard category—such as explosive, flammable, gaseous, or liquid substances, making it easy to identify the risk at a glance.
For example, the pictogram on the left indicates a flammable substance, while the one on the right signals an explosive hazard:

The hazards of the substances contained within the wrappers, the GHS labels, according to the European Union (link), must mandatorily contain certain information:
- Substance name and/or identification number
- Danger pictogram
- Nominal quantity
- Danger level warnings
- Safety tips
- Name, address, phone number of the supplier
Please note: We take no responsibility regarding the accuracy of your GHS labels. Before ordering them, please make sure that the labels contain all the mandatory information according to GHS or CLP regulations.
GHS labels and hazard stickers
At etichetta.it, you can order GHS labels and stickers. We offer a wide range of materials, but for this type of use we recommend plastic materials such as polypropylene and polyethylene, which are resistant to moisture, chemicals and oils. A protective lamination will be able to provide additional protection against scratching and tearing.
On our online calculator you will have the opportunity to choose from a production of labels on a roll or sheet labels. The labels on roll are particularly suitable for mechanical application, while a production of labels on sheets might be advantageous if you apply the labels manually. Sheet labels can be finished with a matte or glossy protective varnish. A protective lamination is only available for roll labels. Learn about the different finishes we offer.
Do you have questions? We would be happy to advise you on different materials and options for your GHS labels and hazard stickers and pictograms. Contact us by phone at 06 94803980 or by e-mail at info@etichetta.it.
