Regulation

As of January 1, 2023, wine labeling regulations have undergone changes. Wine labels are now required to include certain information. The Regulation (EU) 2021/2117 introduces requirements for wine producers: as of December 8, 2023, it will be mandatory to include a list of ingredients and calorie value information on wine labels. Due to the limited area available on bottle labels, the European Union has allowed producers to use so-called digital labels, also known as electronic labels or e-labels, to provide this additional information.

There are many different types of wine bottle formats (Bordelaise, Champagnotta, Champagne Cuvee, Rhine or Alsatian, Marsalese, Burgundy, or Burgundy).
